What to Expect

ALZENA R. TURNER, FOUNDER/CEO

This ministry had been placed on my heart for years and finally, on December 24, 2011, we started our ministry. Our mission is to touch the lives of people in our community and  surrounding areas by feeding, clothing, giving personal hygiene items and meeting the spiritual needs of the homeless, children, less fortunate and our elderly seniors, offering guidance, regardless of their race, color, gender, religion, or personal beliefs.

Our vision is to be an outreach of strength to give support so we can stand together united and pool our resources to meet the needs of the people. In the year of 2013 we had served more than 200 people. We have received our 501 ( c ) ( 3 ), and we are still paying for our building.

During the year of 2013 we had our first Annual Musical at Christ Missionary Baptist Church where Rev. Billy R. Williams is pastor, we gave bread away every Tuesday when it was available from H.E.B., in August we gave out school supplies to grades Kindergarten thru College, in October we hosted our first Happy Fest for our children, for Thanksgiving we did sack lunches and clothes giveaway, in December we were able to give away 43 turkeys, potatoes, celery, and bell peppers, All the above items were donated, and we served a hot meal on New Year’s Eve’s.

May 17, 2014 we had our 2nd annual musical at the Christ Missionary Baptist Church located at 619 40 ½ St.  We are so graceful to Pastor Billy R. Williams and the Christ M.B.C. Family for all of their loyal support and friendship to our ministry.

August 16, 2014 we sponsored a Back To school and School Uniform Drive. This drive was very successful.

December 20, 2014 we had a great event. We fed and gave clothing, shoes, coats, to the homeless and less fortunate and we gave out food bags and 400 lbs. of leg Quarters. Special thanks to Fiesta, Food Town, J.C. Produce, H.E.B. Kroger, and Texas Video Magic for their donations and service.

We give bread out weekly when available from the H.E.B. Store.

Special thanks to M. Curvey, M. Campbell, E. Williams, E. Simmons, R. Williams, N. Banks, E. Banks Deanna Robinson, Rev. W. Moore, and Rev. James Houston for volunteering their time and service.

Thanks to everyone who donated, items and cash to this ministry and helping to make our vision possible. Special thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Patrick Booker for being a listening ear and setting up the webpage for the ministry and being our photographer.

We ask that you please continue to pray for this ministry that we may grow strong.
