Alzena Turner

Alzena Parker Turner was born in Alexandria, Louisiana to Wilbert and Bertha Harris Parker. I was the baby of four (4) children. I lived in Alexandria, Louisiana with my grandparents Rev. Joseph and Lillie Nash.

She attended the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and dedicated her life to Christ and was baptized at an early age.

She attended Reed Elementary School in Alexandria, Louisiana.

After the death of her Grandparents,  she lived with her oldest sister Earline Nash until she was eleven (11) years old.  In 1962 she moved to Houston, Texas to live with her mother. They lived in the Six Ward, and she attended Gregory Elementary School. Later They moved to the Studewood Heights area. She starting attending Booker T. Washington in 1962 and graduated in May of 1968.

She joined Providence Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor King C. Mason where she met Edward Turner and they were united in marriage on March 1, 1968. She worked one full summer at the Selective Service in 1968, then in 1970 she was hired at Southwestern Bell and later retired in 1990.

Currently she is a faithful and dedicated member of the Garden Grove Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and has been for over thirty plus years. Rev. Will Moore is the Senior Pastor.

God blessed her to start a company named A.R.T.S. (Authentic Rich Tasty & Scrumptious Catering, & Ceramics & Gifts).

She loves working and sharing God’s word with people. Later God laid it on her heart to start this Non-profit Ministry, God’s Anointed Reaching To Serve Ministry Inc. (God’s A.R.T.S. Ministry), which was created to serve the less fortunate by providing needed services to the community.

The ministry is a group of born again Christians doing the work of the master.




Co-Director

Edward Turner

Edward G. Turner was born in Chappell Hill Texas to Spencer and Ollie Mae Turner.  He confessed his faith in Christ at an early age at his home church of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Edward attended C.H. Hogan Junior High School in Chappell Hill, then the family moved to Houston in 1956 where he attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. 

Edward joined Providence Missionary Baptist Church in 1960, then, after attending 3 years of Pharmacy school at Texas Southern University, he entered the U.S. Army in 1963 and was discharged in 1965.

After his discharge from the Army, and while still attending Providence Baptist Church, he met Alzena Parker and they were married on March 1, 1968.  Then, in 1976, he was ordained as a Deacon by Pastor King C. Mason. He later attended CBS Bible College where he studied the old and New Testament and the principles of teaching.

He joined New Canaan M.B.C. in 2001 and accepted the office of Director of Education for the Sunday School and Brotherhood ministries.

In 2011, He and his wife, Alzena, co-founded God’s Anointed Reaching To Serve Ministry Inc, and he is responsible for teaching the Bible Study Classes here at God’s A.R.T.’s and at New Canaan Baptist Church.

Edward loves doing the work of the Lord Jesus Christ and letting all who will listen, know who God is and what He has done for him and them.

Elizabeth Valentine

I Elizabeth Valentine the treasurer of God's ARTS Ministry.  I was born to a young mother who sought God at a young age. Blessed to be raised in a God-fearing family with loving grandparents. Graduated from Cy Fair High School. Was employed by Southwestern Bell for 20 years then Walmart for about 18 years.  Both jobs help sharpen my customer service skills. Blessed also with 5 children which have only enriched my life. Thankful for my husband God sent. Grateful to the village that helped me along the way. It's a joy and pleasure to help God's people.  To be able to give back because I've truly been blessed.

Eunice Banks

Eunice Banks was born and raised in Houston, Tx in the North side of town known as Studewood/Independence Heights. Ms. Banks beginnings were humble being the baby girl of 6 kids and a true Daddy's girl. Ms. Banks attended Burrus Elementary, Kennedy Elementary, MC Williams Middle School and Booker T Washington high school. As a high school student Ms. Banks became pregnant with her first child in 1994 and later dropped out of school to take care of her son. She later had 3 other children over the course of a few years. She later attended a vocational school and became certified in Word Processing/ Data Entry and obtained her GED in 2004 from Houston Community College. Ms. Banks majored in Business and Interpreting American Sign Language from HCC and later transferred to Lone Star North Harris in 2010. With her love and care for people she started a nonprofit GC- God's Chosen to help women and single mothers reclaim their identities, to get back into the working field, school and God's grace.

Ms. Banks is now a proud mother of 4 amazing children and 3 awesome, beautiful grandchildren. She's a business owner, homeowner, ministry worker, caseworker, devoted daughter, sister and friend. Who finds it an honor to sit on the board of ART's ministry who has done some amazing life changing deeds in the community.

Deanna Robinson

Deanna is a Houston native, mother, and professional with over 15 years of experience in the banking industry.  She loves reading and spending time working in her flower and vegetable gardens.  She is a diligent and spirit-filled Christian who loves volunteering at her church and with God's A.R.T.'s Ministry and its many projects in the community from feeding and clothing the homeless to giving out school supplies.
